10 Things To Do When Blog Traffic Is Low. If you are looking for blogging tips, you will come across thousands of articles about exploding traffic.

That shows the importance of having a high flow of traffic to every blog. Well, unless your blog is just a private online diary then you might not want any traffic to your site. But I am sure that is not what you are up to, right?

10 Things To Do When Your Blog Traffic Is Low

Having a steady high flow of blog traffic every single day is quite impossible if you are just starting to blog. Some days traffic will be high but at times you will see a dive, in your traffic analytics.

What To Do When Blog Traffic Is Low?

A drop in traffic might make you wonder, Oh No! What should I do?

If that is the reason you are here then allow me to suggest a few things that you can do while your blog traffic is at its ‘low’ point.

The List Of 10 Things To Increase Blog Views

Go through the list below and search for the best strategy that will work for you.

1. Check For Errors

The first thing that you should do when your blog traffic takes a dive is to check your blog for errors. Sometimes your blog might be experiencing some technical issues and your audience is having trouble to access your blog.

Among those common blog issues are:
a) Your blog is taking too slow to load
b) There might be some safety issues with your blog (virus or malware warning)
c) Your site is offline or down and you need to check with your service provider.

The 3 issues listed above can stop your audience from visiting your blog. So you need to work on those issues as soon as you can.

2) Create New Content

Though it is not necessary to create new content daily but publishing fresh content as often as possible is important. Your audience would definitely get bored if they see the same content each time they visit your site.

Try to publish a good quality blog post at least once a week. If you are seeing a drop in your blog traffic then it would be better if you could publish at least 2 or 3 blog posts a week. Here are more than 30 Blog Post Ideas for you.

One thing you must know is, search engine loves sites that publish new and fresh content often. Remember that Pinterest also acts as a search engine. So if your main source of traffic is from Pinterest then I can assure you that you will see a rise in your traffic if you pin new and fresh content as often as possible.

3. Try To Batch Write

It might not be easy to publish a new blog post daily especially if you have a busy schedule. In order to publish at least one post a week even during your busiest time, is to try to batch write.

First of all you should brainstorm for ideas as much as possible. Next thing to do is to create a blog post content plan and draft a few blog posts. You can also edit graphics according to the blog post content that you have planned. It is always easier when you put all your focus on one task rather than trying to complete a whole blog post in a day.

How To Increase Blog Traffic

4. Create Fresh Pins

Let’s say that you are busy or lost for ideas and can’t publish any new post at the moment. If this happens, then what you can do is to create fresh pins for your existing blog post and pin it to Pinterest. This would usually help to increase your blog traffic.

It is best if you can make it a routine to create fresh pins every week for new and trending posts. This is one of the many tips that I learned from Pinterest With Ell. The tips that she shared in her E-Course helped me to almost triple my blog traffic in just a couple of weeks.

Canva is a good choice to create good click-through pins. If you don’t use your own photos then I would suggest you use some paid stock photos. Of course, you can use free stock photos but through experience, I have noticed that pins using paid stock photos performs better compared to free stock photos. You can get some awesome looking stock photos from Ivory Mix or Creative Market.

5. Optimize Old Posts

If you have been blogging for some time, then you are sure to have a number of old posts. After some time, that post might not bring in as much traffic as it used to.

I have come across questions from bloggers asking if they should delete old blog post that has almost zero traffic.

Why let something go to waste, after all the hard work you put into it some time ago?

What you should do is give that old blog post a new ‘facelift’. Add some internal links to increase pageviews. Update some new information into that blog post. You can also do some SEO edit to increase your blog post ranking in search engines.

Adding a couple of new attractive pins can help to increase social share as well. When more people share it, you get a higher chance to increase your blog traffic.

6. Adding More Internal Links

As I have mentioned above, adding more internal links to a blog post is great. Just don’t add too many. Internal links would help to increase your blog’s pageviews.

Each time you create new content, add one or two internal links from your old blog posts. You should also update your old blog posts with a couple of internal links from your newer blog posts.

This is why it is important to niche down so most of your blog posts are somehow related to one another and it would be easier to do internal linking that is to link one post to another.

7. Create Freebies

Who doesn’t love receiving something free and has value to it? If you haven’t created any freebies for your audience yet, then now is the time for you to do it.

Freebies would also help to get you started on collecting blog subscribers. Having an email list of your audience would be easier for you to engage with them.

8. Engage With Your Audience

Learn to engage with your audience. Remember your blog is your brand or business and your audience is your customers. It’s a relationship that has to work two ways. They visit your blog in search of a certain type of information and it is your task to provide the information that they need.

In order to know what information they are looking for, you got to know your audience first. Reach out and communicate with them. Always reply to comments. Once you know your audience, you would know the type of information they are searching on your blog.

All this information would give you a clearer picture to prepare your content and attract your audience to visit your blog more frequently.

9. Keyword Research

Keyword plays a big part in SEO. To get your blog post on the first page of search engines, you need to know the keywords that are frequently being searched online.

Preparing your content using the right keywords would help you to target potential customers. You are blogging to make money right, so customers are important.

10. Learn New Things

If blogging is a source of income, then avoid being too comfortable with your blog knowledge. When you are too safe in your comfort zone it makes it difficult for you to grow.

There are so many things you can learn about blogging. If you are new to blogging, I would suggest you learn some basic SEO. If you want to increase traffic, then why no switch your game up in Pinterest. Learn to blog like a pro.

What You Should Do When Blog Traffic Is Low

Always be ‘hungry’ for new information. You may be a new kid on the ‘blog’ now but sometime soon you will be doing great.

There are so many things that you can do When Your Blog Traffic Is Low. Instead of comparing your blog traffic statistic with other established bloggers, why not switch up your game plan and take your blog towards a better journey.
