Here is the list of 10 things you should do before 31 December 2018 and end the year with a bang. I am sure you begin 2018 with a list of goals. Take a quick check, are each of those goals crossed out from your list?

If you haven’t completed or achieved all of your 2018 goals, you still have a couple of weeks to get it done. Congratulations to those of you that had successfully reached all of your goals and targets. The time has come to create new goals for 2019.

How to end 2018 with a bang

But before you start planning for 2019, let’s plan to end 2018 with a bang shall we?

How To End 2018 With A Bang?

Here is the list of  10 things you should do before 31 December 2018 and start the countdown for the new year.

1. Spring Cleaning

Minimize all the clutter in your home. Get rid of all the unwanted. If you are wondering which corner to start, I suggest decluttering at the space you spent the most time each day.  That’s usually the place where junks accumulate.

For those of you that work from home, the best place to start spring cleaning would be your home office or work table. Or you could choose to start by decluttering your closet. Don’t forget to ‘declutter’ your laptop and mobile phone’s memory too.

Before you begin, make sure you all well equipped with all the cleaning supplies needed. Garbage bags or boxes and the vacuum cleaner is a must have.

Get rid of torn and broken items. The more freed up space you have the better. However, try not to throw away items that are still in good condition but is no longer useful to you. Store them in a separate box and later you can decide either to sell them as pre-loved items or donate them to charity. Then you would have another good deed done to add to your list before the year ends.

Take your time to clean the whole house. You don’t have to complete it all in a day. Focus on only one or two rooms a day. If you start today, your house will surely be clutter and dust free by 31 December.

2. Take That Much Needed Break

It’s time to relax and unwind and get rid of all the accumulated 11 months of stress. Enjoy your annual leave. Go on a short break or vacation to somewhere you always wanted to go.

Somewhere closer to nature will help you to feel more relaxed and motivated to take on the new year. Your body and mind needs to be recharged to face more challenges that the new year would bring.

3. Spend Time With Family And Friends

The festive season will be a good time to catch up with family and friends. Have mini gatherings at each other’s houses. I believe family bonding time is very important and what better time to have it than during the festive season.

When my late grandmother was around, we used to gather at her house on Christmas eve. Her house would be filled with chats and laughter while we fed our face with all the yummy food.

At midnight, we would all queue up to hug her before we hug and wish one another. Then presents would be passed around the living room and in every corner young and old would be excitedly opening presents.

Oh how much I missed those wonderful times. It was a day I looked forward to every year. This Christmas would be the 2nd year without her around. And somehow things would never be the same again.

4. Take That Challenge

I am sure there is something you always wanted to try, but maybe the fear of that challenge had hold you back. Why not overcome that fear before the year ends.

You only have one life to live, so live it to the fullest. Face every fear, jump over every hurdle. Don’t let anything hold you back any longer. By overcoming a challenge, you will feel more motivated to start the new year.

5. Medical Checkup

It is important to always keep your health in check. Go for a medical screening before you kick-start the new year. Seek advice from your doctor on ways to improve your lifestyle.

Mental health is as important as physical health. Speak to a professional if you have difficulties coping with anxiety or stress. Remember that it is important to have both a healthy body and a healthy mind.

6. Shopping

You still have time to shop for presents even if you are a last minute shopper. There are so many beautiful Christmas gifts that you can find in stores or if you hate the crowd and the jam, then just purchase those gifts online.

Precious Moments has some beautiful Christmas gifts that you can purchase online. They have figurines, ornaments, dolls, plush, books, bibles, children’s books, calendars, waterglobes and many more. Don’t forget to check them out.

While shopping for presents for loved ones, why not buy an outfit or two for yourself. I am sure you want to look good for the new year, don’t you.

After all the hard work for the whole of 2018, you should reward yourself with something nice.

7. Review 2018

Take some time to reflect on 2018 on every aspect of your life (personal, financial, emotional…) How much did you manage to achieve in a year? List down all the ups and downs of 2018.

See the ups as a benchmark for you to achieve higher and the downs be a lesson that will motivate you to work harder.

8. Celebrate 31 December 2018

There are bound to be good days and bad days in each year. No matter how your journey was in 2018, New Year’s Eve should always be celebrated. Its a day to bid farewell to the past and greet a warm welcome to a new beginning.

Always try to be positive at every ending to attract a positive aura for a new beginning.

9. Set Goals

Take some time during the last days of 2018 to set a few goals for yourself. Whether its long or short terms goals, you decide. This is when my planner and journal comes in handy.

Before the start of a new year, I like to list down all my goals at the front page of my planner and journal. Then I start planning ahead based on those goals.

10. Planning For 2019

Planning ahead is very important to keep you on the right track. To start planning, a good planner is a must have. Years ago, I used to go to one bookstore after another to find for a suitable planner.

Now, purchasing a good planner is so easy. I can just browse through different planners and just buy them online.

The choice of planner from Daily Greatness and Kahootie has caught my eyes. Are you searching for a good planner too? Drop by at their site, their planners and journals are very attractive.
