Want to know How To Increase Blog Post Shares? The higher social shares you get for each post, the more page views your blog receives. And if you are monetizing your blog, there is a higher chance for you to see an increase in your monthly earnings.

Let’s say you have just published a well-written blog post that took you hours or days to complete. You followed all the 7 steps to do before publishing that post and uploaded some amazing photos to it. You are confident that the post is going to increase your pageviews drastically.

But after a few days, you decide to check google analytics and notices that the particular post is not getting that much blog post shares as you imagine. Worst case scenario, not a single person has shared it except for you. Where did it go wrong? Let’s recheck to find out what went wrong.

How To Increase Blog Post Shares

There are a few possibilities that your well-written content is not getting any blog post shares

9 Tricks To Increase Blog Post Shares

Share Buttons

Have you placed any social share buttons above or below of your post? Is it clear enough to be noticed? In my opinion, these social media buttons are best placed below each post. I have tried placing it as floating buttons too but at times the floating policy cookies block it and make it impossible to share the post. While blog walking, I have noticed the same problem at a few other blogs as well.

So if you are getting very low blog post shares, it’s better to recheck your social share buttons.

Call To Action

Sometimes readers want to share your post but cannot find any social share buttons to do it. So they just leave after reading. If you want your readers to share your post, give them a hint. Just below your post, you could say something like “If you find this post helpful, do spread the word” or “please share this so others can read too”. Make sure to place the social share buttons just below or after those suggestions.

You can also practice the call to action each time you share your post on your social media accounts. Encourage readers to share your facebook post or tweets to reach a wider audience.

Tweet Plugin

One more thing that has caught my interest to increase blog post shares is to install the Tweet Plugin. You can read more about this plugin in The Best 10 Free Plugins For WordPress. I use the Better Clik To Tweet plugin and create tweetable content for each post. I have noticed that tweetable quotes get a high number of retweets.

Pinterest

Do include Pinterest to your social share button list. In my opinion, a post that is shared on Pinterest is much easier to reach your target audience. I have noticed that after I started sharing on Pinterest, not only did my blog page views increase but my pins are being made viral by many other Pinterest users.

Create Pinnable Images

Another trick that helps to increase blog post shares is to create pinnable images for every blog post. I always use Canva to create pin images. Try to brand your pin images so that it stands out from the crowd. Use a suitable font size and attractive keywords to attract readers to save and click on your pin. Create at least 3 pins for each post. I sometimes try to create more.

Quality Content

Content is king and so is quality. You may not have time to publish one new post a day but try your best to focus on the quality of your content. Avoid too many spelling mistakes and grammatical errors. Publish more informative or unique content.

I have noticed that blogging tips, recipes, DIY, home hacks, health and beauty are among the few topics that get a lot of blog post shares. People love sharing tips and tricks to their social media. So if you are looking for extra blog post shares, try posting a few posts about tips and tricks.

Facebook Group Threads

There are many facebook group out there that have daily threads for bloggers to join. You just have to submit your newly published blog post and other bloggers will share it to their social media account. And at the same time, you have to share their newly published post too. It’s actually a win-win situation and you are helping one another to reach a wider audience.

For new bloggers, these facebook group threads are great to build your network. It’s a ‘free’ way to introduce your blog to potential readers, subscribers and clients or customers (if you are monetizing your blog).

Build Trust With Your Audience

One thing that you must focus on is to build the trust between you and your readers. Treat your readers as your friends. Get to know them. Reply to their comments. When there is a two-way communication, readers will definitely come back to your blog each time you publish a new content.

Regular blog visitors are usually the ones that will keep sharing your blog post. So always offer good quality content for them to share on their social media accounts.

Search Engine Optimization

Last but not least, focus on your search engine optimization to get a higher page rank for each published post. People usually search google for answers to their questions. If your blog post is rank higher on the first page of google search, your blog post will get noticed more frequently.

People that are searching for answers would surely share your post to their social media account for further reference. By focussing on SEO you will definitely see an increase in blog post shares.

Always remember one trick may work for one blog but it might not work for another. So always try different ways to increase your blog post share and get the much-needed pageviews.

Do you practice any of these tricks to get more blog post shares? Share your opinion on this. Who knows you might have other ways to increase blog post shares.

If you find this article helpful and will benefit another blogger friend of yours, don’t forget to share it.
